Nice work teams. And thanks Andrew, the evening was great - no technical hitches and the lights were out. Well done. Really enjoyed it.

the lights were out.

I've never been happier to see a hastily-installed dimmer in my life.

It was a great night - shame about the sync issue with Robocrop's film (which didn't occur in my initial watch of it), though being the loveliest 48HRS team ever, they weren't too pissed and I'm pretty sure they were laughing along with everyone else at the 70s kung-fu dialogue syncing.

Holy smokes, I'm absolutely over the moon with that! It was honestly one of the strongest and most entertaining heats I've been to in years, with a lot of great films from the other teams. A real shame as well about the DQ'd films.

Thanks Andrew and team, sound/vision/everything seemed to run great and looked and sounded fantastic.

Yeah, congrats Dan...was a really stacked heat. Funny how the alphabet tends to do that on occasion.

And it was followed by one of the most wildly vacillating in quality, bizarro, crazy-town heats in the history of V48 (I would have to assume).

Two Total Twits' PENANCE brought the house down. Never before has a black screen got so much audience love. Cult fave for sure.

The only film that brought actual tears to my eyes. When the black did change to a white screen it all seemed timed to the music and the few frames of actual footage that chimed in towards the end was magic.

Penance was amazing. What would have been truly great however, would be if at the end of all the black and white screens, a zombie face just screamed and appeared right in front of the camera and destroyed the audience. It was a horror:)

Hellz yeah, we got second in our heat (Outside the Box).

Well done, it was pretty cool. Just out of interest, are you a school or teen team or just in the general pool?

Yup we are a group of year 13 guys from Burnside High. This was our first year as The Crazy Horses, last year we were part of Twins and Bullies, who are notorious for Men of the Millenia and this years Tip of the Ice Berg.

Last year we made Sidney Manson Saved My Life with them, which was admittedly pretty bad, and ended up being disqualified for the wrong video format.

Heat 9 was one of the most singularly weird experiences I have ever seen at 48hours. As a participant in the heat, albeit one extremely disappointed in my film, I was absolutely stunned at the mixture of weird and incoherent stories (mine included).

Inside this heat, we had a film largely based around a black screen with accompanying sound, amateur porn with some sort of crime story attached, A man killing a ceramic squirrel, A Monty Python-esque quest movie, some sort of futuristic road movie, and various other weird stories. It was like watching "Dogtooth" all over again.

Annoyed Grunt:

2012 -

Twins and Bullies:
2011 - Tip of the Iceberg - Body-Switch Movie
2010 - Sidney Manson Saved my Life - Biopic - Disqualified (Wrong DVD Format)
2009 - Men of the Millenia - Politically Incorrect - Best Bad Film (Christchurch)

Heat 7 Pressure ProductionS
Just a quickie - a reviewer thinks that our film was a big budget blow out......
I did the costumes/make up/props for the film - What you see on screen is work, research, attention to detail, not a big budget dudes!
We had ten people in our team and it cost em $20 bucks each for the privilege (?!).
Don't mind what you think of the result and put it out there - there was some great stuff in our heat!
- the only way that we even spent the cash we did was cos the entry fee had been waived for us chchcers.
Cheers PP

Yeah, I thought that comment was pretty misguided. Read like someone with a grudge. Where is that place btw?
