You know what would be super cool and that is to have the characters trait kept secret till after the comp is over. The line, the prop and the shot would all be clues as to what the character is and that's what you have to aim the script at, unmasking the character in the story.

in reply to treefrog:

it's a very ancient swedish name both male and female Sven as a girl means the prettiest of all creatures found by the lake. and Sven as a boy means the delightful one with blue eyes. you can look it up in the scandinavian dinner and tv guide published by palazzo editions.

A couple of years ago Ant added the camera shot.
I propose that this time have a location added. Nothing too specific, a kitchen perhaps or a dairy.
This could even be either designated as a starting or ending location.
Thoughts?

It was floated a while back a compulsory Sound Effect, available to all on-line.

Thoughts?

I like the location idea, Mike, kitchen/dairy etc, but could be a tad limiting,
say you're invested in shooting a drama at sea or in a mine, perhaps.

What about a scene element, a sign or maybe a shape (triangle or a square etc)

Discuss.

If you wanted the sea or the mine you could flashback/forward.

I like the way that the elements force creativity, in a very similar way to improv theatre. You have to adapt to survive.

I both love and fear the curve ball that the organisers throw.

I like the compulsory sound effect idea. And the compulsory location idea too. But either would need to be _very_ generic, so as not to hurt potential films with unusual settings (location or time period) or to disadvantage (or advantage) certain genres.
